A great new opportunity has come my way!!!

Starting in November, I'm going to be illustrating a comic book for an independent comic house called Shot in the Dark Comics. I will be doing it all.....Pencils, Inks, Colors, and Lettering! The Owner/ Editor/ Writer: Gene Tipton, came across my artwork on Facebook and on my other art websites and emailed me saying that he was working on a book right now that would be perfect for my style! I am very excited about this opportunity and I will post up some of the (work in progress) art when I get the permission from Gene to do so!! I just wanted to share my great news with my friends, and let people know how excited I am about this new opportunity!

What I can say now is three things: 1. It's going to be 30 pages plus the cover (all in full color)!! 2. I have the main characters designed (the main character is a kick ass Super Heroine!!!). 3. It will be a Really Great comic book when it's all done!!! Due to the workload at my full time job, my actual start time on the project will not begin until November (after things slow down for me a little at work). So, check in every once in awhile.......I hope to show off some samples here on my blog and I know at some point Gene will have some samples of the comic up on the Shot in the Dark web site as well!!!!

In the meantime..... please check out (and purchase!) a couple of other Great comics that Shot in the Dark has published by other great artist's and writers: Looks Like a Rat to Me  and Myth Hunter

My new Super Hero Greeting Card design....

This is my newest greeting card design. I created it using a Super Hero that I first made up when I was 9 or 10 years old! Back then I called him Lightning Volt. For my updated / re-boot of the character, I first designed so many years ago, I changed his look and his name to Lightning Bolt! I plan to design a whole line of cards for boys around this guy for my online greeting card store The Village Greetings.....

Here's the original blue line sketch along with the black line inking I did in Illustrator CS5. I finished off the color image above in Photoshop CS5.....

Here's a look at the way I drew him way back when I was 9 or 10 years old. It's fun to look back on the way we drew things as young children!.....

Cartoon image I used on a greeting card.

I used this cartoon image on a humorous "don't be such a stranger, Please write soon!" greeting card design on The Village Greetings. I really enjoy working in this type of cartoon style!

Fish Doodle

I drew this fish doodle in the iPad app. DoInk and painted it in ArtRage.

I did this illustration of an Alien Warrior King and really like the way it turned out. I put it on a new series of name specific birthday cards for boys at my greeting card store The Village Greetings...

Nikki Sixx Portait.

My cousin just loves Nikki Sixx and I did this portrait for her. I had it printed out at 18" x 24" and framed it up nicely as a gift for her. It's hanging in her house right now! I liked the way it turned out...

Some New Stuff, Finally!!!!

I have really neglected my blog lately!!! I've been working on my Greeting Card Universe store, my Zazzle store, and been on Facebook and DeviantArt a lot! I was going to try to update this blog daily in the beginning! As you can see, I got very far away from daily updates! I'm going to commit to daily updates from today on, and we will see how it goes....

This first image is my new cartoon zombie design. I've used him on a greeting card and a T-shirt design so far. I liked the humor of the name "The Hopping Dead" and the way the cartoon character design turned out. I'm a hugh fan of The Walking Dead TV show and Comics! The caption on the back of my T-shirt design reads: "He may be slow...but he's just as DEADLY!!!" If you would like to check out the T-shirt on Zazzle, here's the link The Hopping Dead Zombie T-shirt...

These next images were some of my submissions to the DeviantArt, "Dark Shadows" competition. Tim Burton himself was judging the top 10 submissions and picked the final top 3!!! Although I didn't win, I had a lot of fun! I saw the movie, and it was really great!! The last image in the group, the disco fever image, was my personal favorite of the 4 shown here...
